Leviticus 21:2
JPS-1917כִּ֚י אִם־לִשְׁאֵר֔וֹ הַקָּרֹ֖ב אֵלָ֑יו לְאִמּ֣וֹ וּלְאָבִ֔יו וְלִבְנ֥וֹ וּלְבִתּ֖וֹ וּלְאָחִֽיו׃
except for his kin, that is near unto him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother;

כי אם לשארו. אֵין שְׁאֵרוֹ אֶלָּא אִשְׁתּוֹ (שם; יבמות כ"ב):
כי אם לשארו BUT FOR HIS KIN [THAT IS NEAR TO HIM] — שאר here denotes his wife (Sifra, Emor, Section 1 4; Yevamot 22b).
