Nitzavim covers Deuteronomy 29:9–30:20, in which Moses tells all of Israel—from tribal leaders to woodcutters and water-drawers—that they stand this day in covenantal relationship with God. The portion includes the famous passage that the Torah is not too distant or hidden but very near, in the heart and mouth, and the stirring call to choose life.
