Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) is a collection of lyric love poetry in the Ketuvim attributed to Solomon, celebrated for its lush imagery of romance and longing. Rabbi Akiva famously declared it the holiest of all scriptures, and Jewish tradition reads it as an allegory for the love between God and the people of Israel.
