but if thou hast gone aside, being under thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee besides thy husband—

ואת כי שטית. כִּי מְשַׁמֵּשׁ בִּלְשׁוֹן אִם:
ואת כי שטית BUT IF THOU HAST BUT IF THOU HAST GONE ASIDE ASIDE — The word כי must here be employed in the meaning of “if” (cf. Rashi on Genesis 18:15).
