And the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him.

ויסרו אתו. מַלְקוּת (שם):
ויסרו אתו [AND THE ELDERS … SHALL TAKE THE MAN] AND CHASTISE HIM — i.e. with lashes (Sifrei Devarim 238:2; Ketubot 46a; cf. Onkelos).
