Gemara

The component of the Talmud comprising rabbinical analysis of and commentary on the Mishnah. Written in Aramaic, it records centuries of scholarly debate among the Amoraim (Talmudic sages, 200-500 CE). Together with the Mishnah, it forms the Talmud.
