Paracha Chukat חוקת

Chukat covers Numbers 19:1–22:1, opening with the mysterious red heifer (parah adumah) ritual for purifying those who have come into contact with the dead. It narrates the deaths of Miriam and Aaron, Moses's sin in striking the rock rather than speaking to it, and the military victories over Sihon and Og east of the Jordan.
