JPS-1917אַל־תַּכְרִ֕יתוּ אֶת־שֵׁ֖בֶט מִשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת הַקְּהָתִ֑י מִתּ֖וֹךְ הַלְוִיִּֽם׃
’Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites;

אל תכריתו. אַל תִּגְרְמוּ לָהֶם שֶׁיָּמוּתוּ:
אל תכריתו CUT YE NOT OFF [THE TRIBE OF THE FAMILIES OF THE KOHATHITES] — Do not bring it about for them that they shall die.
