JPS-1917וַֽיְחִי־לֶ֕מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֧יִם וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד בֵּֽן׃
And Lamech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begot a son.

ויולד בן. שֶׁמִּמֶּנּוּ נִבְנָה הָעוֹלָם (בראשית רבה):
ויולד בן AND HE BEGOT A SON (בן “son”, connected with the root בנה ‘‘to build”) — from whom the world was built up (peopled) (Tanchuma 1:1:11)
