Megillat Esther is a narrative of the Ketuvim read publicly at Purim, recounting the story of the Jewish queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai who foil the genocidal plot of the Persian official Haman. One of only two biblical books not to mention God by name, it celebrates Jewish resilience and the reversal of fate.
